President Obama, At Last!





Finally, the long nightmare ends...




In a few short days the peculiar false dawn of the interregnum will end, Mr. Bush will leave town for good, and Obama will finally be the president we elected him to be almost three long months ago.

As for holding the outgoing administration accountable for it's crimes, Paul Krugman pretty much nails it in his Jan 16 column in the NYTimes...

PBS Frontline is showing a new documentary of Obama's rise to the presidency, called "Dreams of Obama", based on his bpok, "Dreams of My Father" ... watch it online here.

The Pariah President
After watching this clip a few times, it occurs to me that it must have been pre-arranged that none of the leaders were going to shake Bush's hand on camera, as there was no hesitation or missteps, just Bush undergoing the extreme humiliation walk-by... And further, why the apparent unanimity of attitude among other leaders vis a vis Bush? More than some kind of mean payback, I wonder if they aren't looking ahead to possible war crimes prosecutions of Bush administration members in European courts?
